If you are a healthcare worker such as a doctor, nurse, etc., and want to work in Sweden, you should have knowledge about the Swedish healthcare system at first. In order to work as a healthcare professional in Sweden, you have to go through some stages. We’re explaining step by step what the healthcare personnel should do to move to Sweden.

STEP 1: EDUCATION ASSESSMENT

The medical degree you have in your country should be assessed by Sweden. In this way, they will find out the equivalent of the Swedish education level, length, and content. After that, you will receive a decision explaining whether you can proceed and how to take the next step.

For assessment of your education, you need to submit an application. First, Fill out your application and send it either to The National Board of Health and Welfare address or via email. Other documents might be needed too. Please keep in mind that you do NOT have to send your original documents.

Your application must contain:

  • Send your documents in both the original language and translated into Swedish or English:
  • A copy of a certificate of completed education
